The 40-year-old actress admitted her decision to get roles in 'Kung Fu Panda 3' for Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, nine, and seven-year-old Knox, "backfired" because the experience made her brood realise acting isn't as complex as when they've watched her work behind the camera.

In an interview shown on UK TV show 'Lorraine' this morning (07.03.16), she said: "I think it backfired a little, because I did say 'OK, you're going to come to mommy's work'.

"They see me on set everyday doing things and directing but this was a moment of seeing me act, 'You're going to do some lines, you're going to act' and they all went in and took it very seriously and then in the car they were like 'that's what you do that's so easy, that's a job?'."

Angelina - who also has son Maddox, 14, and daughter Vivienne, seven, with husband Brad Pitt - adores the 'Kung Fu Panda' series because main character Po (Jack Black) isn't a perfect hero.

And, having adopted her eldest three children, the themes that run throughout the films are also close to her heart.

She said: "He's not that perfect idea of what a hero is, and what the cool guy is and he becomes the best Po and we love him for it. And I love that this story has that and I love that it speaks about friendship and loyalty and what it says about family and adoption, and what would build a family."
