Ariana Grande has been branded "lazy" after failing to turn up for a chat show appearance.

The 22-year-old singer was due to appear on a recording of 'The Jonathan Ross Show' in London but never arrived for the show, prompting veteran broadcaster Jonathan to call her a "lazy f***er".

He told the audience at the taping: "Ariana is in town. We were told she would be in the car at 6pm to be here for 7pm then it got to 7pm and she was not in the car - 7.30pm and she is still not in the motherf***ing car. So I don't think we can hold out much hope.

"She was booked but the lazy little f***er has not come. Maybe she has gone to her first Nando's."

Other guests appearing on the show included Dame Joan Collins, Danny DeVito and Sheridan Smith but it was delayed while they waited for the 'Problem' hitmaker - who has now flown back to the US - to arrive.

And as she hadn't arrived to perform her new single 'Focus', the guests ended the programme with a karaoke rendition of 'Nine to Five'.

But according to the Daily Mirror newspaper, Jonathan, 54, said he would give her the "benefit of the doubt" over her disappearance.

He added: "I don't know what it is. We are going to give Ariana the benefit of the doubt and not say anything mean or judgemental. I apologise to anyone who might have come along hoping to see her."
