Big Boss Man

The legendary wrestler - real name Raymond W. Traylor Jr. - is set to be given the honour posthumously for his unique domination of the ring during a ceremony on April 2.

During his extended career, the Big Boss Man was best known for handcuffing his rivals to the ropes and using his truncheon to beat them. Throughout his time in the ring, he has faced the likes of 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin, Mick Foley and The Undertaker.

Many have rushed to offer their congratulations to the late star, with Gene Okerlund - a wrestling announcer and interviewer - praising him as "one of a kind".

He wrote on Facebook: "With the news out that the Big Boss Man will be inducted into the WWE HOF posthumously is the best news l could get this morning. He was one of a kind. The Good Kind. (sic)"

Whilst Sean Waltman - better known under his ring names of 1-2-3 Kid and X-Pac - remembered an "extremely intelligent" individual and a "great friend".

He wrote: "Great news about a great friend & great performer, Big Bossman - Ray Traylor being inducted into @WWE HOF 2016. As great as Big Bossman was to watch, it's hard to comprehend how great he was unless you've been in the ring with him.

"Tons of really funny Bossman stories. The best ones were told to me by Curt Hennig. Everybody loved that guy. Couldn't help it. Bossman was extremely intelligent. I remember him making some really smart real estate investments. He knew that stuff inside & out. What a sight when Bossman got superplexed from the top of the cage by Hulk onto that hard ass ring!"
