Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin are planning to live together in Malibu.

The former couple splashed out on a $14 million beach house shortly before confirming their split, and though it had been speculated it had been bought as a bachelor pad for the Coldplay frontman, insiders say they will share the property.

According to the New York Post newspaper, the house includes "two totally separate" living spaces so they are both able to stay close to their children Apple, nine, and Moses, seven.

It had been speculated the 'Fix You' star would live alone in the Californian property because it was bought by a special trust.

A property insider said: "For this property a new trust was created, called Magical Kingdom Land (trust), which signalled something definitely changed between the pair. Everything else they have owned together, including homes in London and New York, was bought under Orchard House LLC. It appears that the trust used was different to the firm that Gwyneth is known to be associated with."

Announcing their separation, Chris and Gwyneth said they were "closer" than ever and would always put their family first.

They said: "We are, however, and always will be a family, and in many ways we are closer than we have ever been."
