Anna Faris and Chris Pratt

Anna Faris and Chris Pratt

Chris Pratt and wife Anna Faris have described their devestation of being told their son was likely to have special needs.

The couple welcomed their son Jack into the world in August 2012, nine weeks premature, and were warned that challenging times were ahead because he was so early.

Anna revealed: "He was born at three pounds. And we were told, 'OK, you need to be prepared for raising a special-needs child.'"

"It also felt like, you know; 'We can do this'." Anna added.

Now the couple are happy to know their little boy has no development problems aside from wearing glasses, and Chris says his faith was "restored" in God following the experiences.

In outtakes from his interview as GQ Man of the Year, Chris said: "It restored my faith in God, not that it needed to be restored, but it really redefined it.

"The baby was so beautiful to us, and I look back at the photos of him and it must have been jarring for other people to come in and see him, but to us he was so beautiful and perfect."
