The longstanding soap has been slammed as "unrealistic" by its audience after Monday night's episode (07.05.17), which saw Tracy (Kate Ford) enjoy a steamy sex session with her on0-screen lover Rob (Marc Baylis) in her prison cell.

Speaking in the risqué episode, Tracy said: "I guess it's going to be a while eh, before you have any female company?"

To which Rob, who is jailed after he took the blame for Ken Barlow's murder, replied: "Afraid so."

Tracy asked: "How long did that copper say we've got?"

And the lothario replied: "Around seven minutes I reckon."

However, fans have since taken to social media to share their views on the scene.

One Twitter user wrote: "As if they would let Rob, a convicted murderer have 10mins in the cell with Tracy! The most unrealistic scene in history of soap (sic)."

Whilst another wrote: ""I know its only drama but PLEASE inject some realism! Getting ridiculous Corrie! Who writes this s***e? (sic)."

And another tweeted:"Apparently the prisons in Manchester allow male convicts ten minutes in the cells with female convicts (sic)."

However, other viewers were encouraged by the intimate moment and are keen to see the brunette beauty have a "happy ending".

A separate person wrote: "Didn't want to, but actually love Barlow as a couple! Can't they just have a happy ending (sic)."
