Danny Mac has been hailed a "diamond in the rough" by his 'Strictly come Dancing' partner Oti Mabuse.

The professional dancer is thankful the former 'Hollyoaks' actor has turned out to be such a skilled mover because his strong dancing ability means she is able to test him with tricky routines and impressive choreography.

She tweeted: "Onto my "diamond in the rough" thank u for your trust none of my ideas would come to live without your belief in our team blessed to have u (sic)"

The 28-year-old actor is thankful his fans have been voting to keep him and Oti on the show because he is loving "every second" of the intense training.

He posted: ""Muchas Gracias" to every one of you who voted. Your support has been incredible - @otlile_mabuse & I are loving every second. Thank you X (sic)"

And Danny is particularly enjoying his new friendship with politician and fellow contestant Ed Balls, 49.

He wrote: "I LOVE Ed Balls. There I said it. #EdBalls @bbcstrictly #Strictly #SCD (sic)"

Danny and Oti tied at the top of the leaderboard on Saturday (08.10.16) with their impressive paso doble on movie week and Oti hoped their 'Mask of Zorro' routine did the film justice.

She tweeted: ""Olé" hope we did zorro justice 😊 Thank you to everyone for your lovely messages and support every week #MovieWeek #Strictly #TeamDoti (sic)"

And their performance was all the more impressive as the professional had felt ill throughout their rehearsals.

She admitted: "Just taking a moment to thank @dannymaconline for taking care of me this week! fell ill,you were amazing all well now but all thanks to you (sic)"
