The 50-year-old French DJ was due to bring an exciting set to the outer space experience, but he opted out because he heard something had gone "wrong" and he feared the worst.

Speaking to Metro newspaper, the 'Hey Mama' hitmaker said: "They came with the offer and I loved it. I was very close to doing it. Something went wrong with one of the flights and I got scared."

But David still wants to try the first commercial spaceliner and has admitted it is still on his "to do list".

He continued: "It is still on my to do list, for real."

David is set to perform with U2 on the MTV Presents stage in London's Trafalgar Square on Saturday (11.11.17), ahead of the MTV European Music Awards on Sunday (12.11.17), and the star cannot wait to grace the stage with the music legend Bono, whose real name is Paul David Hewson.

And David has admitted he would love to collaborate with the star on a track in the future.

He said: "I'm a big fan. We've crossed paths many times. We talked about it in the past. I'd love to do it, of course."
