The 'Broadchurch' actor has confirmed the couple have welcomed a fourth child into their home in recent weeks.

David - who has two children, daughter Olive, four, and two year-old son Wilfred, with Georgia and is stepfather to her son Ty, 13, from a previous relationship - confirmed the joyous news on the Christian O'Connell Breakfast Show on Absolute Radio on Tuesday (10.11.15) when the radio presenter asked him about his growing "brood".

David, 44, replied: "I know, number four has arrived, yeah."

Christian continued: "Wow, what is it, like The Waltons round there at The Tennant household?"

David laughingly added: "I know, it's getting a bit ... it's a bit of a brood!"

Radio presenter Christian - who was co-hosting his show with the former 'Doctor Who' star - went on to joke that the busy actor is like a travelling serviceman who pops home every now and then for "amorous" nights in with his wife.

He then quizzed the actor on the family's Christmas plans, to which David quipped: "It certainly is (busy), a sleepless Christmas I suspect!"

Though few other details were revealed about the tot such as a name or date of birth, David would confirm the newborn is "a little girl" and sounded delighted when he stated he and Georgia, 30, have now "got two of each".

Christian though couldn't resist making another gag at David's expense, describing him as having the "look of a new dad ... haunted" and stating that he could see the strain in his "eyes".

The couple met when Georgia had a guest role in 'Doctor Who' opposite David in the 2008 episode 'The Doctor's Daughter'.

The family's connection to the BBC One sci-fi show is deep-rooted as Georgia's father Peter Davison played the titular Time Lord between 1981 and 1984.

David's Tenth Doctor and Peter's Fifth Doctor even appeared opposite each other in the 'Time Crash' mini-episode for 'Children In Need' in 2007.
