Diane Kruger's romance has lasted because of therapy.

The actress credits mutual trust and regular couples' therapy sessions for the success of her seven-year relationship with 'Dawson's Creek' star Joshua Jackson.

She told Britain's Marie Claire magazine: "All relationships are hard. It doesn't matter what job you have, or how famous or miserable or poor you are. It's about commitment. The hard part is the timing. When you meet someone, are you ready to make them your number one priority?

"I'm grateful that I met a person who feels the same not just about me, but also about our relationship. But therapy helps, too."

The German-born beauty hasn't seen her father since she was 16 and cut all contact with him when he sold baby photos of her to the press when the release of epic war flick 'Troy' made her a household name in 2004.

While Diane admits her strained relationship with her father is to blame for her past dating mistakes, she no longer holds a grudge and wants to move on with her life.

The 36-year-old star said: "Oh, I'm sure I punished many boys for my lack of a father figure. And I'm sure I dated many men who were much older than the men I should have been dating.

"But at the end of the day, I'm not bitter. I love me. I want a family for myself. I'm not angry with him anymore."
