The 34-year-old actor has admitted during filming for the production based on Bob Geldof he came out with a major injury after he punched the floor, which did not have a protective layering on.
Speaking to Metro newspaper about the mishap, he said: "The stupidest [thing I have ever done] was I broke my hand when I was playing Bob Geldof [in 'When Harvey Met Bob'], because we didn't put down protective stuff where I was punching the floor. So that was stupid.
"Being close to an edge of a waterfall in 'Ex Machina'. That felt mad, but it was totally safe."
The 'About Time' star has admitted he enjoyed a thrill-seeking time when he was working on 'American Made' with Tom Cruise.
He explained: "I went up in the plane with him and [director] Doug [Liman] - and he put us in zero gravity for a second. It was amazing. I got to float in the air. And Tom wore the Aviators while he was flying, which made me extra happy. he didn't put them on for that reason [to recreate the 'Top Gun' clip] but he had them on and he was piloting the plane. It was one of those moments."
