The 'Love Me Like You Do' hitmaker has pulled the plug on a show in Latvia on Friday (15.07.16) and one in Finland on Saturday (16.07.16) due to a mystery illness, but has vowed to "bounce back".

She wrote on Twitter: "Am sorry that I had to cancel this weekends festivals. Because of ill-health I've been advised to not travel or perform. Il bounce back (sic)"

The news comes just days after Ellie had to pull out of two shows in Australia on her 'Delirium World Tour', one in Adelaide on October 10 and one in Perth on October 12, due to "an unforeseen scheduling conflict".

A statement from her Australian promoters, Frontier Touring, said: "Frontier Touring sincerely apologises to all those affected by this cancellation."

The 29-year-old singer is still due to play five dates in New Zealand and Australia in September and October as part of her world tour.

Her next performance is scheduled for July 31 in Chicago.

Just last week, Ellie was at the Wimbledon tennis championships in south west London.

In May, the star - who split from McFly's Dougie Poynter earlier this year - admitted she was looking forward to taking a career break soon.

She said: "I'm still going to be writing, but it's been so overwhelming the past few years that it's time to go away for a little bit and be out of the limelight.

"It's really a commitment, being on the road; you almost put everything on hold -- seeing family, seeing friends. I've missed so many weddings and births.

"It will be nice to wake up and know I don't have anything to do."

Ellie has previously struggled with terrifying panic attacks, but learned to keep them at bay with cognitive behavioural therapy.
