The 71-year-old singer is a huge fan of the 'Wrecking Ball' hitmaker and he's delighted to have her cover his song 'Don't Let The Sun Go Down on Me' on new album 'Revamp: Reimagining Elton John'.

Speaking on his Beats 1 show 'Rocket Hour', he said: "She's 25 years of age, and boy is she sexy, and boy is she talented, and boy do I love her."

Elton also hailed Lady Gaga - who is godmother to his and husband David Furnish's sons, Zachary, seven, and five-year-old Elijah - as one of his "dearest friends" and praised her "out there" attitude.

Speaking about Gaga, who has covered 'Your Song' for the record, he said: "She's one of the loyalist, most wonderful people and most talented people I've ever met.

"She's also out there and I love people who are out there. She doesn't give a flying f**k...she's very much her own person and I love that."

And the 'Don't Let The Sun Go Down on Me' singer was impressed by the "b***s" shown by Ed Sheeran when it came to rerecording 'Candle in the Wind'.

He said: "I didn't think anyone would tackle it, but Ed Sheeran had the b***s to do it.

"And he's done a version which sounds to me like Crosby, Stills & Nash from the late 1960s/early 1970s produced by Peter Asher and it's absolutely beautiful."

Elton performed 'Tiny Dancer' with Miley at the Grammy Awards earlier this year and he praised the "feisty" singer ahead of their appearance.

He said: "I've always loved her. I like those are my kind of women. I like my women to be strong, and I like my women to be feisty, and she's certainly all that, and she can sing.

"So it's great to finally be able to work with her."
