Kelly Osbourne and the late Joan Rivers on 'Fashion Police'

'Fashion Police' is set to continue following the death of Joan Rivers.

A new season of popular style series, which the late comedienne hosted for four years until her death earlier this month and is produced by her daughter, Melissa Rivers, will kick off in January and is expected to feature longtime co-hosts Giuliana Rancic, Kelly Osbourne and George Kotsiopoulos, as well as a new acid-tongued fashion critic.

After much speculation, a spokesperson for the network released a statement on Friday (19.09.14), saying: "We are deeply saddened by the loss of Joan Rivers and, for the last two weeks, have turned our attention to honouring her memory on all of our platforms. We have also thought long and hard about what Joan would have wanted as it pertains to the future of 'Fashion Police'.

"We decided, with Melissa Rivers' blessing, that Joan would have wanted the franchise to continue. 'Fashion Police' will return in 2015 commencing with Golden Globes coverage on Monday, January 12. No further details will be announced at this time."

E! News anchor Giuliana, 40, recently admitted she wasn't sure whether the show would go on without Joan.

She said: "They are looking at different scenarios.

"A lot of that will be up to [Melissa] and how she's feeling and how she decides what she wants to do, along with the execs here at E! There is no word now - they are seeing what 'Fashion Police' looks like without Joan."

She added: "A part of me is like Joan would want Melissa and us and the team to go on and I know she would, but it's just a matter of can there be a show without Joan? Do we want to do a 'Fashion Police' without Joan? I don't know."

Joan passed away on September 4, a week after she stopped breathing during throat surgery.
