The 'Pendulum' hitmaker - who is engaged to 'Twilight' actor Robert Pattinson - revealed how she was caught up in a kerfuffle outside a yoga studio near home in Shoreditch.

She said: "I was mugged outside the yoga studio."

The Mercury Music Prize-nominated singer - real name Tahliah Debrett Barnett - also admitted she thinks it's "bad to be basic" and so she rarely goes out to clubs or bars and is "not the kind of person" who will attend an art exhibition.

She told the Sunday Times magazine: "I'm not the kind of person who goes to an exhibition on a Thursday night just because everyone is. It's so bad to be basic. I don't have an average day. I hate that kind of thing."

Meanwhile, The 27-year-old choreographer also opened up about racism and how "very conscious" she was about being the only mixed-race girl in her school class.

She added: "I was very conscious of it. I was half-Jamaican, but I didn't understand that side of myself. Western society tells you that if you're blonde, you're beautiful; if you have green eyes, you're beautiful; if you have fair skin, you're beautiful."

She continued: "Out of London, that's very much more so ... Even in magazines I wasn't seeing a reflection of myself, because it was Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. When I was young teenager, every girl that vaguely looked like Britney in my class was the one who was really hot."

Asked if she thought it was racist, she added: "Sometimes it was racist but I think without really realising. Kids can just be a bit cruel."
