The former 'Only Way Is Essex' star has lived on fruit drinks for the past 28 days during a month-long stint at a special retreat and was weaned off her "addiction" to fatty foods by Jason Vale, the author of detox books '7lbs in 7 Days' and 'The Juice Master Keeping It Simple'.

Speaking about Gemma's time in the retreat, Jason revealed: "She (Gemma) lost two-and-a-half to three stone in total in four weeks, living on nothing but freshly pressed juice.

"She has been doing exercise as well but not military-style. None of it is forced. Nobody can force Gemma to do anything, frankly!"

Gemma, 34, quit 'I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!' last year after struggling with the lack of food served and conditions in camp.

But the bubbly reality TV star has learned to ignore her cravings thanks to Jason.

Jason, 46, told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "A diet mentality is when you say, 'I want it but I can't have it.' She can have anything she wants but she doesn't want to now.

"She realises crisps are the cause of the problem. The need for junk food is caused by junk food. She's getting her head around that."

Meanwhile, Gemma - who quite 'TOWIE' last month and is signed up for action adventure show Channel 4 'The Jump' - was determined to make the most out of her time on the £5,000-a-week retreat.

She said ahead of entering the retreat: "I'm size 18 now but I'll be coming out a 14. I got down to 16 before but this will be the smallest I've ever been."
