George Clooney is already being urged to have children by his new father in law.

Clooney tied the knot this weekend to Amal Alamuddin - to whom he became engaged to back in April.

The wedding excitement hadn't even had time to settle before the subject of children was brought up in speech by the father of the bride, Ramzi Alamuddin.

According to a guest at the Aman Canal Grande Hotel, Ramzi used his speech to say: "Now it's time for grandchildren!"

This is the second marriage for Clooney - who married Talia Balsam back in 1989 - and the first for thirty six year old Alamuddin.

The pair were married in Venice, where the world's media descending to get a snap of the happy couple.

The wedding was a star-studied event, with Matt Damon, Bill Murray and Cindy Crawford amongst the A-list guests.

Clooney and Alamuddin exchanged vows that they had written themselves, before the guests tucked into a five course meal.

The couple will complete their weekend of festivities with a small civil ceremony today (29.09.14) that will legalise their union.
