George Michael still has the jeans he wore in his famous 'Faith' video.

The 50 year old singer wore a pair of ripped denim trousers with a leather jacket and black sunglasses for the 1987 video and has revealed his father Jack Panos still has the garments at his house.

George said: "My mum used to keep things like that and now my dad's got them. They were jeans I'd had for ages, so the rips were genuine. I wore them so much that they started to fall apart - I used to ask my mum to sew them."

The 'Careless Whisper' singer hasn't worn the pants for a "long time" but insists he's planning on digging them out next time he visits his father and says the clothing was his idea because he couldn't afford a stylist.

He continued: "The whole 'Faith' image was totally me - I came up with the idea and I put the look together, leather jacket and everything. I didn't use a stylist - in fact I don't think I could have afforded one. It worked, though, and I think it was quite a cool image."

The video was a huge hit and George's fashion sense inspired pop culture in the late 1980s but he claims it wasn't intentional.

He added in an interview with Britain's HELLO! magazine: "I remember after that video, Vivienne Westwood wanted to make clothes for me - I couldn't believe that one of the engineers of the punk image thought I was cool enough for that."
