The 'Iron Man 3' actress lends her voice to 'Everglow' and the frontman explained the idea for the song came after his former spouse said to him "How come things move on? How come cars don't slow?", so he asked her to sing those words on the track.

Chris said: "She came up with the idea so I said, 'Is there any chance you'd sing that line 'cos it's your idea?' Like any human, she was like, 'I can't do that! I'm not a professional...'

"'Everglow' started from the idea that when something crazy happens to you, it's strange the world keeps rolling.

"I like the idea that at the end of most things there's something good to be found from it."

As well as Gwyneth, the group's new album, 'A Head Full of Dreams' features a wide range of guest stars, including Noel Gallagher, Beyonce, production duo Stargate and Tove Lo, and the 'Yellow' hitmaker says it reflects his own diverse taste in music.

He said: "I genuinely love Oasis and I also genuinely love Beyonce. My body gets the same pleasure. If you like different types of music, it's OK to say it."

And Chris couldn't be happier to be in Coldplay right now.

He told Q magazine: "I feel so blessed, I'm in a band I really f***ing love. I've never been able to say that before."
