Gwyneth Paltrow has been told off for taking her children on a scooter to school.

The actress and her estranged husband Chris Martin were using Vespas to take their kids Apple, 10, and Moses, 8, to the Los Angeles school, but TMZ revealed that Gwyneth almost hit a bus while riding the vehicle with her offsprings.

This meant that the couple were then advised to take a new mode of transport to and from the grounds.

The New York Post newspaper's Page Six column was told by a source: "The scooters had been convenient for zipping around Los Angeles traffic, and dropping the kids off at school without having to wait with other parents and kids in the car-pool line.

"But after Gwyneth was photographed on the Vespa pulling out in front of a bus, school chiefs reprimanded her and said they'd rather she and Chris didn't bring the kids to school on scooters."

Earlier this month Gwyneth admitted that Apple and Moses had just begun taking the school bus, with it giving them new independence.

She commented: "Actually, this is their first year on the bus. They take the bus and then I pick them up at the bus stop. It's pretty cute. They feel very independent . . . It was great. They seemed really happy. They got off the bus. They were smiling. They had backpacks."

The actress' spokesperson insists these claims are false however.

They explained: "This story is not true. It was last year that they would occasionally drive the kids to school on scooters. This year, the kids take the bus."
