The 21-year-old singer admitted he had aspirations to study law but is now glad he never went ahead with his plans as he thinks he would have found it too difficult.

Harry - who auditioned for 'The X Factor' at the age of 16 - told 'Entertainment Tonight': "I wanted to be a physiotherapist and then all my teachers told me, 'No jobs in that.' [So] I decided I wanted to be a lawyer.

"This happened before I had to start working hard enough to be a lawyer. Now I can be like, I would have been a lawyer."

Harry's bandmate Louis Tomlinson, 23, revealed he had plans to become a teacher while Niall Horan, 22, just hopes he would have gone to university.

He said: "I honestly don't have a clue what I would be doing. I don't know how I would have done on my exams, but I hope I would have gone to university. What would have happened there is a different story."

Meanwhile, the band - which also includes Liam Payne, 22 - revealed their pre-show ritual includes a nod to legendary boy band the Backstreet Boys.

Speaking during the last leg of their 'On The Road Again' world tour, Niall said: "We warm up and then we just have this huddle that we do before the show, and then put our hands in and we sing. Every time we go to a new leg of the tour, we make up a new song to sing. So at the minute, it's Backstreet Boys."
