Jamie-Lynn Sigler attends James Gandolfini funeral

A host of 'Sopranos' stars said their tearful goodbyes to James Gandolfini at his funeral yesterday (27.06.13).

The majority of the late actor's co-stars from the hit HBO Mafia drama attended the 90-minute service, including his Emmy-winning on-screen wife Edie Falco (Carmela Soprano) and his on-screen daughter, a heavily pregnant Jamie-Lynn Sigler (Meadow Soprano), who hid her tears behind a pair of dark sunglasses as she arrived at the Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine in Manhattan, New York City.

Co-star Joe Pantoliano - who played Ralph Cifaretto in four seasons of the show - described the strictly Catholic proceedings as "beautiful" and a fitting goodbye to Gandolfini - most famous for his role as mob boss Tony Soprano.

He told Access Hollywood: "It was a beautiful mass. The priest that held the mass knew Jimmy. The way Jimmy's friends spoke about him ... they said things that made me feel less alone."

'Sopranos' creator David Chase and James' late wife Deborah Lin were among the speakers at the funeral, speaking to a star-studded gathering of mourners including Alec Baldwin, Steve Carell and 'The Good Wife' stars Julianna Margulies and Chris Noth.

Outside the cathedral, the 51-year-old actor's former colleagues from the drama - which ran between 1999 and 2007 - hugged and consoled each other.

A visibly upset Steve Schirripa, who played Bobby Baccalieri, was among the mourners who couldn't hold back his tears and had to be comforted by an unidentified male and female attendee.

Other co-stars who paid their respects included Michael Imperioli, who played Christopher Moltisanti - the nephew of Tony - and Aida Turturro, who starred as Tony's sister Janice.

Gandolfini died aged 51 last week while holidaying in Rome, Italy, with his 13-year-old son Michael.

Michael attended the funeral with his mother, the actor's ex-wife, Marcy Wudarski.

The Emmy Award-winning actor is also survived by his wife Deborah and eight-month-old daughter Liliana.
