The 63-year-old actor, who stars in 'Independence Day: Resurgence', has lived in the same house in Los Angeles for the last 28 years of his life, but has revealed he wouldn't miss anything about the property even if it were to burn down.

The Hollywood star - who has an 11-month-old son called Charlie - explained: "I used to have a recurring dream where there's an aspect of a house that I've left undiscovered, with a witches' coven on the other side of the door. The thing I like about nesting and Charlie is that more of the house, my life and my person is getting used.

"But if the house burned down, I wouldn't miss anything. I'm like one of these yogis who wanders the Earth with a diaper and a loin cloth, a bowl and a spoon. I like not to be attached to anything."

On the flip side, Jeff remains very attached to his chosen profession, revealing that during his youth, he even wrote the words 'please God make me an actor' on the shower door every day.

Jeff said he had been drawn to the idea of becoming an actor ever since his parents took him to the theatre at the age of nine.

He told the Observer newspaper: "There was something in me that was just intrigued. I remember thinking, 'Who are they?'

"Where do they come from? What are they doing? What goes on backstage?'"
