Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck have a "very mindful" marriage.
The 42-year-old actress admits she's not interested in being courted by the Hollywood hunk, 42, on a regular basis and believes their relationship works because they allow for both family and personal time.
Speaking to InStyle magazine, she said: "You go through phases. You can't expect to be courted all the time, and I don't want to court him right now--I don't have the energy! But we're definitely in a very mindful place where we're making an effort to be together, do things at the same time, and be loving."
However, the '13 Going On 30' star, who married Ben in 2005 when she was four months pregnant, admits now that their children Violet, eight, Seraphina, five, and Samuel, two, are a little bit older, they're able to go on more dates together when they have spare time.
She explained: "When we had our first [child], we had only been together a year. We were babies. It happened so fast, I hardly remember what we were like before the kids got here. Now we're just starting to go away for a night here and there."
Meanwhile, Ben is currently filming for 'Batman vs. Superman', which has left Jennifer taking on most of the parental duties for the time being.
She said: "Right now he's acting in Batman, this huge movie that will shoot for six or seven months.
"When Ben is directing, he works around the clock. He's always preoccupied. So before he directs something, we have to ask, 'Are we up for this?'
"At night, after I put the kids to bed, I'll sit with him at the monitor. And sometimes you have to say, 'This is all good, but I need a date.' "
