The 26-year-old actress had previously been spotted on a string of low-key dates with the director - who is 21 years her senior - in Los Angeles, and now their romance has continued onto the streets of New York City as the pair were spotted holding hands and kissing on Wednesday (02.11.16), pictures obtained by the DailyMail.com reveals.

The news of their continued romance comes after it was recently revealed they were dating in secret after they met on the set of their new film, which is yet to be given a name and also stars Javier Bardem and Michelle Pfeiffer, over the summer.

A source said at the time: "Jennifer and Darren have tried to keep things low-key and under wraps but they are really into each other.

"Recently Jennifer was working on a gruelling project and she relied on Darren for support and they were in constant contact. It seemed to show they were the real deal."

And the 'Hunger Games' actress finds dating the 'Black Swan' director - who has 10-year-old son Henry with former flame Rachel Weisz - much less stressful than when she previously dated Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, as she and Darren both prefer to keep their private lives out of the spotlight.

An insider shared: "She struggled when she dated Chris [Martin] and seemed very stressed out. With Darren, it will probably be different.

"He does not attract attention like Chris does. He is very low-key. He does not seem like a person who enjoys being a celebrity. Jennifer is the same."

Whilst neither party have officially confirmed their romance, the 'Joy' actress recently revealed her ideal man would be someone who "impresses" her.

She said: "It's not a sad thing to be alone. I think what I was trying to get across was that I don't feel a lack of something not being in a relationship. I don't feel like there is a hole to be filled ... An emotional hole to be filled ... You know, I'm 25. I'm successful. But I'm a girl. So I'm still always going to be attracted to somebody who impresses me."
