Jesse Eisenberg thinks being proud of his film work is "obnoxious".
The Oscar-nominated actor - who shot to fame for his portrayal of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg in 'The Social Network' - hates to watch himself on the big screen and finds it difficult to be prideful of his acting work.
Admitting he hasn't seen his new movie, magical thriller 'Now You See Me', he said: "Oh, I don't watch things I've done. Who walks around proud of things they've done? That's an obnoxious quality."
The 29-year-old star's role as arrogant magician J. Daniel Atlas in the new film - which also stars Isla Fisher, Dave Franco and Woody Harrelson - marks a big shift from playing misfits and geeks, and Jesse, who admits he suffers from confidence issues in real life, says playing the cocky character rubbed off on him.
He explained to the Metro newspaper: "This was the first movie I really enjoyed making. Afterwards I realised it's because my character really likes himself. My experience parallels whatever the character is feeling. It was therapeutic in a way."
Ironically, despite his profession, Jesse concedes he can be camera shy and loves voicing the role of colourful bird Blu in the animated 'Rio' franchise as he can act "ridiculous" in the recording studio because he isn't being filmed.
He said: "It's a really fun process. You can overact, kick your shoes off, jump around the studio and look so ridiculous. Not being on camera gives you licence to do so much you'd never do on camera."
