The 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' star prefers to keep so busy that if "something falls through the cracks", he still has something to get on with.

He told ITV's Lorraine: "I never know what I'm going to do but I try to do everything. But mainly out of a fear of not having anything to do, rather than enjoying the thing that I'm pursuing. I'm like a freelance person so I try to do a million different things so that once something falls through the cracks I'm still busy.

"I'm self absorbed but I'm just not interesting enough to occupy my full day. So I have to be other people absorbed as well."

Meanwhile, the 32-year-old actor previously revealed he hopes someone "slaps him in the face" if he becomes a Hollywood diva.

He said: "The moment I complain about the totally disproportionate relationship between the wonderful perks I get [as a public figure] and the minor inconveniences that I'm tasked with encountering, is the moment I hope somebody slaps me in the face. The whole context of what we're doing right now is vain for me. But all of our lives have unusual circumstances. And you learn to live with those circumstances.

"When I'm talking to you, (I wonder) do you look at me and think, 'God! What an indulgent p***k'? Or do you look at me and think, 'This guy is smart and he thinks about what he does'? I ask because I wonder how I sound. Because nobody ever tells me to shut up! ... I know my circumstances are the luckiest circumstances that have existed since, y'know, the dawn of civilisation.

"I recognise that in an intellectual way. I just still put a lot of pressure on myself. When I think about the kind of luck I have, of not only being born in America, but being able to do the things that I want to do, it feels pretty stupid to feel anxiety."
