Johnny Depp has revealed that he is not a fan of when actors become musicians.

Depp has shown off his musical ability over the years, both on and away from the big screen, but the actor has not plans of ever swapping the big screen for the music stage. He admits that he hates it when actors make that transition.

Speaking to The Sun newspaper, Depp said: "The whole idea for me is a sickening thing. It's always just made me sick. I hate the idea, 'Come see me play the guitar because you've seen me in 12 movies'."

Depp has previously joined the likes of Oasis, Marilyn Manson, Keith Richards and Ryan Adams on stage to play guitar, but insisted he has no plans to forge a serious music career of his own.

He continued: "Music is still part of my life ... but you won't be hearing The Johnny Depp Band. That won't ever exist."

Depp returned to the big screen earlier this month when he reunited with director Rob Marshall for musical Into The Woods, which is based on the Broadway show by Stephen Sondheim.

Depp last worked with Marshall on Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and this is the second Sondheim musical he has starred in - he showed off his singing ability in Sweeny Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.

Into The Woods saw Depp take on the role of the Wolf alongside Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, James Corden, Anna Kendrick, and Chris Pine.
