The 'Bound 2' hitmaker has been forced to backtrack on his insulting remarks after he locked horns with the 28-year-old rapper when he mistakenly thought his rival was publicly shaming his wife Kim Kardashian West on Twitter.

Taking to the micro-blogging site an hour after he became entangled in a war of words with Wiz, Kanye wrote: "Ima take these down cause it's all about positive energy blessings blessings positive energy blessings (sic)."

However, despite wanting a peaceful vibe, Kanye seemingly couldn't help but take a subtle dig at Wiz by claiming he'd managed to lose him followers on the social networking site.

He said: "Man it's a sad a day... Wiz lost 2 million followers since I tweeted, I didn't mean to either him like that.(sic)"

Kanye later decided to put the feud to bed after Wiz claimed the "KK" he referenced in an earlier tweet meant marijuana.

He said: "I'm happy that I now know that KK means weed... please excuse the confusion ... now back to #WAVES (sic)"

The pair initially came to blows after Wiz mocked Kanye for deciding to change the title of his forthcoming album.

Kanye hit back: "First of all, you stole your whole s**t from Cudi", and then added: "Second, your first single was corny as f**k and most there after."

But things took a turn for the worse when Kanye brought Wiz's relationship with Amber Rose, with whom he has a son Sebastian, in to the bitter feud.

Kanye, who previously dated Amber before he started his relationship with Kim, said: "3rd no one I know has ever listened to one of your albums all the way through. 4th you let a stripper trap you. 5th I know you mad every time you look at your child that this girl got you for 18 years. 6th don't ever come out the side of your neck at me.(sic)"

The 38-year-old rapper has now removed his rant from his Twitter page.
