The 'Titanic' star has revealed she provides her 14-year-old daughter with "positive reinforcement" as she wants her to grow up feeling happy in her body.

She explained: "When I grew up, I never heard positive reinforcement about body image from any female in my life. I only heard negatives. That's very damaging, because then you're programmed as a young woman to immediately scrutinise yourself and how you look.

"I stand in front of the mirror and say to Mia, 'We are so lucky we have a shape. We're so lucky we're curvy. We're so lucky we've got good bums. And she'll say, 'Mommy, I know, thank God.'"

And the 39-year-old beauty has admitted she has felt insecure about her own body in the past because of childhood bullies.

Speaking on a recent episode of 'Running Wild with Bear Grylls', she said: "I was bullied at school ... I was chubby, always had big feet the wrong shoes, bad hair. There was one girl who was particularly horrible to me."

Talking about what she said to an old classmate she came across after finding fame, she added, "'I want to thank you for being such a bitch because it made me a lot stronger."
