The 49-year-old country singer accompanied his wife to the Emmy Awards on Sunday (17.09.17) - where she picked up the prize for Outstanding Actress in a Limited Series or Television Movie - and admitted he was very impressed by the work put in by his spouse and her co-stars, who included Reese Witherspoon, Shailene Woodley and Laura Dern, on miniseries 'Big Little Lies'.

Gushing he was "very proud", Keith told 'Extra' reporter Renee Bargh: "It's girl power. It's unbelievable how they pulled this all together."

Nicole added: "The power of television now is so extraordinary."

As well as Nicole's award, her co-stars Laura and Alexander Skarsgard picked up prizes in the Supporting Actress and Actor categories, while the show was named Outstanding Limited Series and Jean-Marc Vallée was honoured with the trophy for Outstanding Directing for a Limited Series, Movie, or a Dramatic Special.

But despite the hugely successful evening, Nicole - who has daughters Sunday, nine, and Faith, six, with Keith, as well as Isabella, 24, and Connor, 22, with ex-husband Tom Cruise - was humble about their chances of success.

Speaking on the red carpet ahead of the ceremony, she said: "We'll see what happens, but either way, we have had such a good journey with this."

During her acceptance speech, Nicole paid an emotional tribute to her family.

She said: "I have a huge artistic family who supported me throughout all my ups and downs. You have been so loyal to me throughout my whole life thank you for that.

"I have two little girls - Sunnie and Faith. And my darling Keith who I asked to help me pursue this artistic path. And they have sacrificed so much for it.

"So this is yours. I just want my two little girls to have this on their shelf and to look at it and go, 'Every time my mumma didn't put me to bed it's because of this - (at least) I got something!'"
