The 49-year-old musician admitted he made the long journey - which can take around 14 hours - when he was on tour in America to be with his wife, whom he married in 2006, for just five hours because she was "having an ultrasound" and he didn't want to miss it.

Keith - who has daughters Sunday, eight, and Faith, six, with Nicole - said during an appearance on Harry Connick Jr.'s talk show 'Harry': "I flew to Sydney once when Nic was pregnant and she was having an ultrasound and I was on tour in the states and so I just got on a plane and got down there.

"I think the flight landed at 9:00AM, we went and had the ultrasound, went and had lunch and then it was a 2:00PM departure back to the states and so lunch, ultra sound and home and back on the road again."

Recently, Keith claimed that the 'Lion' actress - who also has children Isabella, 24, and Connor, 22, with her ex-husband Tom Cruise - was "out of his league".

He said when asked about his relationship with Nicole: "That's the longest story. Have you ever met anyone who you thought was completely out of your league?"

And it's not just Keith who has kind words to say about his spouse, as Nicole, also 49, previously said she was "so lucky" to be married to the 'Blue Ain't Your Colour' singer.

She said: "Keith and I always say that we are just so lucky to have each other. In this world, to be able to come back to that love and that strength is so nourishing and powerful.

"And I am coming up an 11-year wedding anniversary, 12 years together, and that's a big thing. And that is through absolute commitment and kindness, the desire to protect and help each other, what our relationship is."
