The 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' star - who has sons Mason, five, and Reign, four months, and daughter Penelope, two, with partner Scott Disick - knows working out is a "positive" thing everyone should try but it wasn't easy to get motivated to bring it back into her routine.

She said: "It's always so hard to start. Exercise is a positive thing that everyone should try to do for themselves."

The 36-year-old beauty has also found eating regular small meals has helped her shed an impressive 35lbs in just four months.

She added to America's OK! magazine: "Little meals throughout the day are realistic for most people. It's a fine balance between exercising and making sure that I eat enough."

Kourtney now works out regularly with her younger sister Khloe Kardashian and regularly changes her regime to "shock" her body.

A source said: "She really does whatever fits into her schedule, and she changes it up to shock her body into losing the weight. She swims, hikes, runs, takes boxing lessons--anything to get moving, even if it's just for 30 minutes."

And now the reality star can't wait to show off her new figure.

The source added: "She's started buying new clothes for summer. She's excited to show off her flat stomach. She's dropped three dress sizes, so she's more confident than ever."
