The former basketball player walked his first carpet at the Kids' Choice Awards over the weekend since he underwent treatment at a rehab facility and revealed how well he was doing as he was joined by his children - Destiny, 18, and Lamar Jr., 14 - at the event.

Speaking to E! News from the orange carpet, he said: "I'm doing great. Just chilling, relaxing, just here with my kids."

Meanwhile, Lamar has been incredibly focused on his journey back to full health.

He said recently: "I'm doing great! I feel great. I'm alive! It's a start. It beats the alternative! [My children,] being sober [and] enjoying life keeps me motivated."

Lamar nearly died following a drink and drug binge at the Love Ranch brothel in Nevada in 2015 and believes it was a cry for help as he had hit rock bottom.

He previously explained: "Did I feel ashamed about some of the choices I made? I was basically just committing suicide.

"Being in that damn brothel and thinking I was going to just rest a little bit. I wasn't in a good place mentally before that incident happened. Me and my wife at the time were going through some things. I was in a dark place.

"I guess they say everything happens for a reason. I guess the reason is I'm here. I can tell the story."

Lamar recently divorced 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' star Khloe Kardashian but previously confessed he wanted them to get back together.

Asked what he wanted for his future, he said at the time: "Honestly? I want my wife back."

However, Khloe has moved on with basketball player Tristan Thompson and is "so unbelievably happy"

Her pal Malika dished: "She is so unbelievably happy and I couldn't be happier for her. [She's doing] amazing."
