The 31-year-old actress recently got engaged to fashion executive Zandy Reich, and whilst she admits she would love to start a family with her fiancé some day, she's concerned that becoming a mother will hinder the types of roles she is given in the future.

She said: "I'm still playing roles that are under 21, so I kind of want to push that as long as I can. Having a baby might mess that up for me."

But the former 'Glee' star hasn't ruled out the idea of having children, and says she's simply trying to put it off for as long as possible.

She added: "I 100 percent [want at least one child]. I come from a very large Italian family, so that's very important to me."

At the moment, Lea is focused on planning her wedding, and has admitted she's already feeling overwhelmed by all the decisions she has to make.

She said: "I've always been every excited to be engaged and get married, but it kind of ends there. As far as being someone that has had a Pinterest board for hundred years, I have not. So I'm kind of figuring it out as I go, and luckily, I have a fantastic fiancé who is equally as excited about this and invested in the process."

Despite planning being a team effort, Lea notes the pair are yet to settle on a location as they both keep changing their mind.

Speaking to Us Weekly magazine, she said: "One day we want to get married in Hawaii, the next day we want to get married in the Hamptons. We'll see where we land. I think we should just put a pin somewhere in the United States and tell everybody to just show up."

Meanwhile, Lea recently revealed the one decision she has made is who will be her maid of honour, with the role going to former 'Glee' co-star Jonathan Groff.
