Michael and Dina Lohan, who have been embroiled in numerous public spats and child support battles since their divorce was finalised in 2007, are reportedly hoping to cash in on their dysfunctional relationship by co-starring in the upcoming VH1 show 'Family Therapy'.

A source told The Hollywood Reporter that the actress' mother and father started filming scenes for the show alongside therapist Dr. Jenn Mann yesterday (24.08.15).

The pair will undergo three weeks of intensive family therapy in a bid to work out their problems and create a happier family environment for Lindsay, 29, and their three other children, Michael, 27, Ali, 21, and Cody, 19.

Dina, 52, previously accused Michael, 55, of subjecting her to domestic abuse during their marriage and blamed him for the 'Mean Girls' star's problems with alcohol.

Speaking in 2013, she said: "Lindsay saw her dad abuse me -- that's why she's so s***wed up. She saw a lot of crazy stuff. I want the world to know the root of her problems."

The former spouses will appear on the show, which is a spin-off of 'Couples Therapy,' alongside former Roc-A-Fella Records executive Damon Dash and his brothers, professional skateboarder Bam Margera and his mother, and former 'Teen Mom' star Briana Dejesus and her sister.

The show will premiere in early 2016.
