Lorde finds the best way to cope with her fame is to "detach" herself from the showbiz scene.

The 18-year-old singer has experienced global success since releasing her song 'Royals', but the down-to-earth star ensures she doesn't let her fame and fortune go to her head by isolating herself.

Lorde finds the best way to cope with her fame is to "detach" herself from the showbiz scene.

She explained: "I still feel detached from the world and I don't buy into it. I'm kind of boring - I like to swim and go for walks, and just to have pretty clothes and for my room to look nice."

The 'Team' singer also credits her entourage, family and friends for keeping her grounded.

She added: "I think it's healthy for me to have people who are in no way afraid of saying, 'Shut up, you have no idea what you're talking about.' I have the coolest parents ever and one of them is always on tour with me."

Lorde has already earned several Grammy Awards and a BRIT Award in the last year, but she doesn't feel like her life has changed pace despite her whirlwind success.

The songstress said: "I'm taking it in, I feel on track with it. A lot of things, like playing Coachella [festival], feel a lot more normal and comfortable now that we've had a lot of experiences that could be considered a big deal. But I have an awesome team who help me not burn out and die!"
