The 32-year-old beauty - who will star in new TV show 'This Is Us' - is looking to the future after she finalised her divorce from the 'Come Pick Me Up' hitmaker in June this year and is excited to focus on herself and her work following the break-up.

When asked how she's doing following their split, she said: "Fantastic! It's tough. Life is not easy. I think it's been great to be able to take all of the chapters in my life and be able to pour it into a job like this because it all helps. It's all fuel.

"I think everything happens for a reason. I think I spent a good portion of the last years of my life really pouring all of my energy into my life and relationship, and now that that's sort of not part of my life any more. It's just not a coincidence to me that things sort of opened back up, and I'm able to focus back on myself again."

However, Mandy's heartbreak didn't stop her making a few jokes as she likened the split to the ending of a television series after its pilot season.

She quipped to reporters at the 'This Is Us' panel at the Television Critics Association tour in Beverly Hills: "It's sort of a soul-crushing thing to be a part of pilot season year after year and for things not to move forward."

Meanwhile, it was previously revealed Mandy and Ryan had officially divorced after a 17-month legal battle.

And rather than have spousal support, the pair chose to completely split their assets, with Mandy keeping their plush apartment in Beverly Hills and their lavish mansion in Griffith Park, California.

Ryan received the 2008 Porsche Carrera and a 1959 Cadillac as well as his comic book collection, pinball machines and the money in several of their bank accounts.
