The 'We Belong Together' hitmaker - who was forced to pull out of her show earlier this week when she was diagnosed with bronchitis - will reportedly return to the stage at Caesars Palace having recovered from the illness.

According to gossip website TMZ, sources have confirmed Mariah has been given the all clear by doctors to perform and has been rehearsing ahead of the concert.

Tonight's show marks the start of a busy weekend for the 45-year-old star who is also expected to perform at tomorrow's Billboard Music Awards at the nearby MGM Grand before heading back to Caesars for her second show of the night.

Hotel insiders have confirmed fans had been questioning the venue over whether the singer was going to perform after she left so many disappointed when she failed to take to the stage earlier this week.

Meanwhile, it was also claimed that the singer had wanted to cancel the show as she felt unprepared and was concerned she hadn't rehearsed enough.

A source close to the star said: "Mariah simply didn't rehearse enough before starting this many concerts and now she's feeling it.

"Leading up to the first show, everyone involved was wondering why this wasn't rehearsed to death."

The insider added the blonde beauty wasn't pleased with her performance in her first shows and had been criticised over her timing on stage.

They explained: "She can sing, but she hardly walks during the show. They're always wheeling her out on some prop."

Mariah broke the news she was suffering with the respiratory illness and had been told by doctors to rest in an Instagram post.

She wrote: "Hey guys ... I've been fighting bronchitis for the past few days.. almost better but on mandatory vocal rest per doctor's orders. I'm so sorry to cancel tonight's show but I promise to make it up to you!!! Love you always, MC (sic)"
