The 'We Belong Together' hitmaker has six-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe with her former spouse - whom she split from in 2014 and divorced in 2016 - and more than three years after the pair went their separate ways, sources say they're still "hands-on parents".

An insider said: "They are both fully committed to being the best parents they can be to the twins. Family is Mariah and Nick's number one priority and they are such great, hands-on parents."

And despite no longer being together, Mariah and Nick are "in a really good place together right now."

The source added: "They call and text pretty frequently about the kids and it's always direct. They don't go through nannies or assistants."

Mariah and the 37-year-old rapper took their brood to Nickelodeon's 2018 Kids' Choice Awards in Inglewood, California, on Saturday (24.03.18), and sources say the joint appearance is proof the pair put their children first.

The insider told 'Entertainment Tonight': "Their appearance at the Kids' Choice Awards is pretty emblematic of their relationship: putting the kids first."

Despite still being close, the pair are not romantically involved, as Mariah is currently dating dancer Bryan Tanaka, and Nick - who also has 13-month-old son Golden with ex-girlfriend Brittany Bell - recently revealed he considers himself to be "in a relationship" with his music.

He said: "Comedy is my therapy, but music is my love.

"I'm in a relationship with music. I'm in no other relationship. Music is my girlfriend, my fiancé, [and] my wife. I'm dedicated to music.

"Therapy fixes people and cleanses people. Music doesn't do that for me. Music makes me happy."
