Mel B has insisted she's a "fighter" in a recent interview.
The star's marriage to husband Stephen Belafonte is said to be on the rocks as rumours fly about their relationship, but despite the apparent turmoil, Mel isn't to let her problems beat her.
Speaking in an interview with Grazia magazine before the rumours began circulating, she explained: "I am a fighter, I'm proud of what I've achieved, not just in my career but as a woman. I've been through many ups and downs and I've come out of it a stronger person."
Stating that she was toughened because of her experiences as a single parent, she was made to understand what's important to her.
Insisting it was a positive experience raising her 15-year-old daughter Phoenix alone following the breakdown of her first marriage in 2000, she said: "I think being a single parent for six years with Phoenix, and living in LA by myself made me much stronger. It made me realise what life is about. It's not just about you, it's about your children and having the right influences around them."
