The 58-year-old actress, who split from Antonio Banderas in June 2014 following 18 years of marriage, originally put her lavish ski chalet in Colorado on the market last June for $9.9 million, but has now lowered the price to $8.9 million after failing to attract a buyer.

A source told gossip website TMZ.com that the star feels she no longer needs the 8,000-square-foot, seven bedroom property, as her children are all older and it requires a lot of effort to maintain it.

But the 'Working Girl' star still loves the area and plans to stay in hotels there when she visits.

The luxurious cabin sits on 12 acres and boasts panoramic views of the nearby Maroon Bells mountains, as well as its own private ski run.

Real Estate agent Bob Bowden, who is overseeing the sale of the estate, told local newspaper the Denver Post: "It really is an oasis.

"It is absolutely private, bordered by (Bureau of Land Management) land. It is an absolute adventurers' paradise up there."

Melanie sold the family home she shared with Antonio and their 18-year-old daughter Stella in Hancock Park, Los Angeles for $16 million earlier this year and is currently renting a four-bedroom villa in the Hollywood Hills.
