The 41-year-old singer was appearing on stage when he made a joke about the beauty's infamous sex tape 'Kim Kardashian Superstar' which was filmed by her ex-boyfriend, rapper Ray J, in 2003 and leaked in 2007.

Appearing on 'Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen', the 'Feeling Good' hitmaker recalled: "I said, 'Ladies and gentleman, please welcome to the stage Miss Kim Kardashian.

"And so they all thought she was coming. I was joking and she wasn't.

"I was like, 'No, I'm just messing with you. That b***h is never coming on my stage. Because she didn't put me in that video.' I said, 'I'm so jealous of Ray J.'"

The 'Haven't Met You Yet' musician went on to explain how 60-year-old momager Kris wasn't "happy" when she heard about the comments, but she believed the Kardashian family had done something to offend Michael.

He added: "I was putting myself down, but all that her mom read was that I called her a b***h. They weren't happy about it.

"I had to explain it to her. She went, 'Oh, [because] I wondered what we did to you."'

The news comes after it was recently revealed that 36-year-old Kim is suing Vivid Entertainment - who own the rights to her sex tape - for misusing her name in a virtual reality (VR) video called 'The Kim Kardashian VR Experience'.

The new video claims to enable fans to feel an "unprecedented intimate connection" with the 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' star, and the beauty's legal team have branded it as "blatant misuse" of her name.

A spokesperson for Kim said: "At this time we are looking into legal options for this blatant misuse of Kim's name."
