Miranda Hart has begged thieves to return her stolen laptop.

The comedienne offered robbers who broke into her home on Friday night (11.10.13) a hefty financial reward if they return her personal PC.

She pleaded on Twitter: "If people who stole my laptop last night in W6 out there. Please please please return.

"Precious creative projects all lost. Will reward. RT".

A neighbour confirmed to The Daily Telegraph newspaper that the 'Call The Midwife' star was the victim of a break-in, while the police said they are busy investigating a burglary at an address in Hammersmith, west London.

A source told the publication: "She is always working, she will be devastated by this."

Miranda - whose Audi was recently stolen - is especially devastated since her personal projects, including scripts and TV pitches were stored on the machine.

Her concerned fans tweeted her with messages of support, asking whether she had thought to back up the files.

One wrote: "that's awful :/ hope at least some of it is backed up (sic)", while another gently scolded her lack of technological awareness, saying: "Sorry to hear this. But seriously, you didn't keep backups? No Dropbox or Google Drive syncs? / It's a real bummer when you lose important stuff. But if it's important enough, have a backup plan to protect it."
