Olivia Wilde is enjoying being a "modern mother."
The 'Drinking Buddies' star, who welcomed her first child, Otis Alexander Sudeikis, into the world in April with her fiancé, Jason Sudeikis, loves staying at home with her baby boy, but still plans to go out and have fun.
Speaking at the CFDA Fashion Awards in New York City on Monday night (02.06.14), the 30-year-old actress said: "The great thing about being a modern mother is that you can balance having fun and being a great mom, and I had a great example of that in my own mom, so here I am following in her footsteps."
Olivia attended the star-studded event with shoe designer Stuart Weitzman and left Jason at home to mind their son.
She told E! News: "This is great. This is really my first time coming out since I gave birth and I thought what a wonderful event to come out for and what a wonderful date to have."
The brunette beauty got engaged to the 'We're The Millers' actor in January 2013, but postponed their nuptials after she got pregnant.
She previously insisted they were in no rush to get married, saying: "It's funny, people tend to skip over the engagement thing. They think it's like, 'oh, engaged.' And then you get there. I don't think you should spend your entire engagement planning a wedding. Because it's fun. It's this great time. It's like dating-plus."
