Olly Murs has hit out at Taylor Swift for writing songs about her relationship with Harry Styles.

Out of the Woods is the latest track from Swift, which is believed to be about her time with the One Direction singer.

And Murs has come out in defence of Styles, urging Swift to write about something else.

Speaking on Australian radio station 2DayFM's breakfast show, Olly said: "Come on [Taylor], let it go. Write something new that isn't about Harry.

"Bless him, it's been like two years and he's still getting lashed out isn't he?"

There are believed to be a couple of other tracks about Styles on her fourth studio album Red.

This would not be the first time that Swift has been accused about penning tracks about ex-boyfriends, as We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together is rumoured to be about Jake Gyllenhaal.

As for Murs, he returned to the studio earlier this year to work on material for his fourth album.

The new record is set to be called Never Been Better and will drop next month.

The album will follow in the footsteps of Olly Murs, In Case You Didn't Know and Right Place Right Time; the latter was the second #1 album for the singer back in 2012.
