The 'Work' hitmaker will play live at the prestigious MasterCard-sponsored music awards ceremony later this month and joins an already star-studded lineup including, Adele, Justin Bieber, Coldplay, James Bay, Little Mix, The Weeknd and Jess Glynne.

The 27-year-old pop superstar has a long history with the British bash having received two gongs for International Female Solo Artist in the past and amassing a total of six nominations over the years.

Her fourth trip to the BRITs follows her previous performances in 2008, when she sang her hit 'Umbrella' with indie group The Klaxons.

In 2011, she performed a medley of her songs 'Only Girl in The World', 'S&M' and 'What's My Name', and in 2012 she sang a stunning version of 'We Found Love'.

This news comes just days after the release of Rihanna's eighth studio album 'Anti', which she surprised her fans with by releasing it for free through Jay Z's TIDAL streaming service last week.

Within minutes of being dropped the LP went to number one in over 30 countries worldwide, a feat which the 'FourFiveSeconds' singer said made her the "happiest girl in the world".

The BRIT Awards 2016 with MasterCard will take place on Wednesday 24th February 2016 at London's O2 Arena and will be broadcast live on ITV and will be hosted by TV presenting duo Ant and Dec.
