The 43-year-old singer has shot three endings for the promo for his latest single 'Mixed Signals' and enlisted Ayda Field - the mother of his children Teddy, four, and two-year-old Charlton - to be involved.

While Ayda, 37, initially thought she'd be in the video as his on-screen wife, her husband told her she'd be there to "make out" with a "really hot model" - and she only discovered she'd be joined by a female the night before the shoot.

Introducing the clip on her TV show 'Loose Women' on Wednesday (01.03.17), she said: "It's called 'Mixed Signals' and in the video there are three alternative endings - the first ending aired yesterday.

"We're not sure if she's cheating on him, but [in the first ending] she comes back to him, she's been out and was rejecting this phone call, there's concerns she's playing the field, or where her attentions are, but she comes home.

"And this ending, the new ending today - I haven't seen it before - that was me with a lady. The alternative ending is she's having an affair with me.

"It was my husband's idea and the funny thing was he was taking me through this video, 'I'm married' and I thought, 'Oh, that would be a fun part for me' and he said, 'Oh no,no, that's not going to be you. But at the end there's an alternate ending where you're making out with this really hot model'.

"I thought, 'Ohhhhhhhhh. OK. What is he gonna look like? This is interesting. My husband is picking up a very fit man'... and it was a woman!

"He showed me a picture of a model the night before and he goes, 'This is the model' and it was a picture of this blonde girl and I was like, 'What?' And he's like, 'She's gonna be in lingerie, and you're gonna be in lingerie'... 'Awesome, thank you very much.' "

But Ayda - who previously starred as Robbie's love interest in the video for his 2009 single 'Bodies' - is pleased with the finished promo.

She added: "I'm so excited about this."
