Robin Thicke is being helped through his divorce by concentrating on a new album.

The singer's made attempts in the past to win back his wife Paula Patton since their split back in February, but she filed for divorce officially last week.

He's now throwing himself into creating new uptempo music to distract himself from his real-life troubles.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, Robin's father Alan Thicke explained: "We're a tough bunch. In the next album you're going to dance your ass off."

Earlier this year, Robin released an album titled 'Paula' - a collection of love songs - in a bid to win her back after allegations of infidelity.

He previously said: "My music is my therapy. When I make these songs and I listen back to them, they make me feel good about myself because at least I'm admitting my faults, I'm trying to become a better man and better person."

Paula is now said to be seeking joint legal and physical custody of their child Julian, and the couple's split is said to be "harmonious" with no issues expected to cause court conflict.
