The 71-year-old rock legend and his 44-year-old model wife - who married in 2007 - will have a "re-run" of their marriage ceremony as they return to the medieval monastery in Portofino, Italy, to reaffirm their love for one another in celebration of their 10th wedding anniversary - the longest marriage the singer has had.

Confirming his plans on 'Alan Carr Chatty Man', the 'Do You Think I'm Sexy' vocalist - who has been married three times - said: "We are going to do what we did 10 years ago and go down to Italy with all the same friends and do it all over again. Just have a re-run."

Rod - who was with first wife Alana Hamilton for five years and second spouse Rachel Hunter for almost nine years - wants to renew his vows with Penny because she is his "soul mate".

The musician - who has two sons, Alastair, 10, and Aidan, four, with Penny - said: "She is very thoughtful and loving and a great mum, and great wife, a great mate, a soul mate - all those things. I've been very lucky.

"I always maintain you have got to wait until the right person comes. Don't just go out with anybody, as if the wrong person is there then the right person can't get in. That is what happened with Penny and me. I just stopped dating and she came along."

When asked by host Alan whether Rod fears Penny will leak "delicate" details of their life together when appearing as a panellist on UK talk show 'Loose Women', he said: " No. She wouldn't be married to me if she was that type of girl. [But] I watch her every time she is on. I watch her. I love watching her. I'm proud of her. She does a really good job."
